Golpes versus revoltas populares?

But the coexistence of the two interpretations hints at an important truth, scholars say: The line between coups and revolts can be blurry, even nonexistent.

Often, they are one and the same: mass public uprisings alongside military defections that compel the resignation or removal of a country’s leader.
