Esferas de influência

Acerca das eleições moldavas, escreve-se na Al-Jazeera:

 "If the pro-European parties win, Moldova's course towards European integration could become irreversible," Arcadie Barbarosie, executive director of the Institute for Public Policy in Chisinau told the AFP news agency.

"If Moldova turns back towards the customs union [with Russia], however, it risks remaining forever in Russia's sphere of influence."

Sou só eu que acho que isso é a mesma coisa que dizer

 "If the pro-Russian parties win, Moldova's course towards  the customs union [with Russia] could become irreversible,"

"If Moldova turns towards the European Union, however, it risks remaining forever in West's sphere of influence."

Afinal, "tornar-se irreversível" e "permanecer para sempre" são conceitos mais ou menos equivalentes...
